Ryan, Saskatchewan, Canada
My name is Ryan. I am 39 years old and have been trapping and predator calling for 36 years. I presently live and trap in Saskatchewan Canada. At age 3, I learned to trap from my father who ran a water line for beaver and muskrats. I began trapping on my own when I was 12 for muskrats. After I graduated from high school, I began trapping land animals, but with little success for many years. I was always looking for some magic lure or trap set that would catch canines. I soon learned that there is no such thing. Experience and learning your target animal is the only secret to learn.
I continued to hone my skills as a trapper and now routinely catch hundreds of coyotes, beavers and muskrats a year. My main method for coyotes is using Ram Power Snares in blind sets around bait. I have found them to be the most efficient and humane way to harvest coyotes.
I am a trapper, hunter, and fisherman, but most of all, I am a conservationist. I do everything I can to minimize suffering, and do not trap or hunt anything that is in a low population cycle.
