What are the best calls to use for someone new to coyote hunting?

The most basic and effective call is the distressed rabbit. It works well in all seasons, including the breeding season. I just called in a mated pair today with rabbit distress. Get to learn that call and once you have mastered it, then try howling or other sounds.

If you plan on hunting during the mating season a female coyote yelp could help you out, otherwise I'd try some coyote howling & a cottontail distress call.
